Once Upon A Time...

A girl with a massive closet had to down-size.  After moving from a California bungalow into a Boston apartment filled with old world charm but little closet space, shelf space and small rooms the girl realized she needed to improvise in order to get dressed in the morning.  With a can of paint and a little imagination, she turned this enclosed back patio into her private dressing room.

If you weren't sure, the girl is me (hi there!).  I got the idea because the back patio had been painted as a child's play room.  The walls were white and the trim was in primary colors - red, yellow, green and blue.  To make the play room more of a dressing room, I covered the trim in primary colors with Ralph Lauren's Aruba Pink.

I freshened up the baseboards and windows with white paint and mixed the white with Aruba Pink to make a lighter pink for the little hearts I randomly put around the room.  At the Container Store, I picked up a canvas-covered closet for the clothes I wear for the season.

The mirror I picked up from Bed, Bath & Beyond enclosing a picture of my favorite beach.  The only thing that would make the room more girlie is if I knew how to change out that back porch light with my petite, white and teal chandelier.

I found stacking drawers which are perfect if you can't fit your dresser into your room (like me!) or have limited shelf and counter space in the bathroom (like me again!).

I picked up this little white table at a nursery and gardening store.  It's the perfect size for putting on make-up and adding a tab of perfume in front of the mirror.  An added bonus is the handles hold my blow dryer when I am drying my hair!

After getting my dressing room organized I realized I had a lot of clothes.  Too many in fact!  That's when I decided I would create this blog, take pictures of my clothes (and whatever else I want to sell of mine), and set up a virtual "store" to clean out my closet and allow you, budget fashionista, the chance to buy something you love.

Cheers,
Kitty
